So, how are you showing up?

Your personal brand defines who you are in the eyes of the external world.

Whether you like it or not, you have a personal brand.

Really, the question is not whether you have a personal brand or not.

You do!

The real question is – “Is your personal brand powerful enough to support your dreams and ambitions?”

Note: Your personal brand is DEFINITELY not what you want to be perceived as in the marketplace. In other words, you cannot WISH for your personal brand. You have to earn it.

However, your brand may not be what you think it is. It may not even match the ways you describe yourself.

If you want a simple technique to uncover your current personal brand, then answer these questions:

How do your close friends describe you to their friends?

———————————————————————————

———————————————————————————

How do your colleagues describe you to their friends?

———————————————————————————

———————————————————————————

How do your clients describe you to their colleagues?

———————————————————————————

———————————————————————————

When you live your life, you live your brand! Each day, what you choose to say and what you choose not to say affects your brand. What you stand for and what you choose to ignore will add to your brand.

In other words, your brand is who you REALLY are!

Authenticity Check:

As you do this exercise, look for commonality among the answers.

The answers won’t be the same, but you should see a striking commonality among the answers.

For example, if your friends describe you as trustworthy, clients describe you as opportunistic and co- workers describe you as highly competitive, there might be a problem brewing.
